Byan's Exchange Story in THAILAND

I want to tell about my first week experience in Thailand. Today, June 21, 2011, exactly a week after my arrival in Thailand.  I went to Thailand with Air Asia flight departing from Jakarta on 14 June at 4.30pm. And I arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok at 08.00pm. From Indonesia I set off with Niken, Yuyu, Debi, Anggi, Dhani, and Badar. They are my friends in this "ASEAN in 60 Days" project.

There we were picked up by Toey (OCP Project LC Chulalangkorn University), Fhun, Kar-Men (EP from Singapore), and Huy (EP from Vietnam). From the Airport, use the lARLcityLine they drove us to the apartment. Kar-Men and Huy is my roommate. guy Apartment are in the area around Phra Ram 9 Station. It's far enough between our apartment to the Girl's Apartment. Girl's apartment was in the vicinity of Rama IV. Here we don't get internet access. So it is very difficult to get online.

The next day, June 15, 2011 

We visited our LC in Thai, the Chulalongkorn University. There was held a kind of introduction of extra curricular events.AIESEC Thailand open a booth there. There we are invited to promote AIESEC to the visitors which is actually a student at Chulalongkorn University.  After that we went to MBK for dinner, and pretty easy to find food without pork.

Thursday (July 16, 2011) and Friday (July 17, 2011) 

We follow the ASEAN Conferrence at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand. This is to equip us with awide range of knowledge about this project, ASEAN, the ASEAN Community in 2015. And many other important things. Here we can meet with the otherEPs from other LC.. This "ASEAN in 60 Days" project is held also by AIESEC LC Assumption, and AIESEC LC Thammasat. Here we are again met with Debiand Badar, here theyare in AIESEC LC Assumption. While in AIESEC LC Dhani Thammasat. Here we can get acquainted with other Indonesian EP.

Monday, June 20, 2011. 

We held another meeting to discuss the project at Chulalongkorn University. After that, lunch at Jumbo Yakitei. After eat, some EPdecided to watch a movie in theaters at MBK, but me and Huy did not participate. We want to save money :D

Yap, here's my first week story in Thailand. I enjoyed it, and I don't regret for choosing this project (y)

This time I want to tell you about my second Sunday experience in Thailand. This is it !!

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 .. We had another meeting with another EP in this project, discusses the roadshow to School for the next day. The meeting held at Chamcuri Square. Meeting lasted until the afternoon, after that we follow Chulalongkorn Tour. Surrounding this university :)

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 .. The first roadshow starts .. We went to Samsenwittayalai School, held a roadshow to educate and socialize the ASEAN Community in 2015 to children here. They were very enthusiastic, exceeded my expectations. We're in school until noon, then me, niken, and anggi parted ways with the others. Because we will meet Andin and Dhani to discuss about Indonesia performance for National Global Village event. Global Village event will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Meeting took place in MBK until night :D

Thursday, June 23, 2011 .. The second day roadshow, We went to Saint Gabriel School, held a roadshow to educate and Socialize the ASEAN Community in 2015 to children here. They were very enthusiastic, and also exceeded my expectations. This is a school for boys, so I would think they would sedikt naughty, and we will be trouble here. At school, I explain a presentation on Indonesia, and they are quite interested, especially in the island of Komodo (y). We're here until the afternoon, and don’t forget I am so glad for this school, because they gave us free lunch. hehe ..

Friday, June 24, 2011 .. In the morning we went to the Ministry of foreign affairs of Thailand. All ASEAN in 60 Days EP congregated there to carry out final preparations for the performances and booths from each country will be shown the next day. Me, andin, Dhani, Anggi, Niken, Andit, Yuyu, and Debi took part in this perform. For me, I'll demonstrate a Pencak Silat action (y)

Saturday, June 25, 2011 .. National Global Village event began .. Taking place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the event was very crowded with people. I am very proud, because our Booth (Indonesia) very crowded with people. We gave them a lot of souvenirs that were distributed today: D And don’t forget they also taste the chips and Basreng "Maicih" that we provide for free , you should see the faces of those who feel maicih is very spicy. Hahaha..  At noon, Me, andin, Dhani, Anggi, Andit, Yuyu, and Debi appear in front of them all showing our performance, “Traditional Fashion Show” from Indonesia. I was very nervous, but Alhamdulillah, they loved it and they really give a good response to our performances (y). Today I we also take many pictures with them all. Really, this is an unforgettable experience in my life..

Sunday, June 26, 2011 .. In the morning, all of us (EP from Chulalongkorn University LC) goes to Chathucak Market .. This place is really crowded by tourists and local visitors. There are many vendors selling a wide range of goods, such as shirts, pants, accessories, typical thailand foods, and even the animals. I am quite "crazy" here. I'm not  too fond of shopping, but see the price here is cheaper when I compared with Indonesia, I also bought some clothes here :D We're here until the afternoon, after that we go to Siam Paragon for dinner before returning to the apartment. That's all for today
