Dani's exchange stories in THAILAND

Day 7- Indonesian Day, June 20th

Today I went to Deby’s house near kasetsart university. It’s so damn far from my apartment, there’s no public transportation to that place and my taxi cost 245 baht to reach there!
Thank God it’s a very nice place with very nice people inside of that house. A very warm family with cute kid and also nice foods, nyamm. There we discussed about Indonesian show at ASEAN Village. Not much that I can tell. My most favorite part this day was mie ayam, kripik durian, kripik nangka, and manisan mangga. I really want to buy a lot of kripik durian!!!

Day 8- Tour Day!, June 21th

This day I became a tourist! My tour start with Vivanmek Mansion, the palace of Thailand King. Awesome one I think, the architecture, the wood, and the rooms inside of it. Along the tour I always imagined how good it’ll be to live there. I imagined that I walk on those stairs going to my room in the third floor.
Unfortunately I only allowed taking pictures from the outside of the palace. These are some pictures that I took.

From that tour, I know that this king really really loves Thailand people. Inside of that palace there is an area to received commoner and there are so many souvenirs given by Thai people to their king. It’s quite nice to know that
After my tour to palace, behind that palace there was a zoo, so there we go. Compared to Ragunan, this zoo is much cleaner, even though Ragunan is still bigger. Animal inside Dusit zoo, there are not so many. Thank God I didn’t find any snake there. We spent 4 hours round that zoo. These are some pictures there.

PS: I don’t know why I felt so homesick this day. Even though I had an amazing tour that day, but I cant stop thinking about my home, my family and friends. So sad

Day 9- Preparation Day, June 22nd

Today me and andin went to MBK to have meeting with other Indonesian Eps. But we just met Anggi, Bian, and niken there. So we talked about Indonesian show and eat there. Yap but actually the meeting wasn’t so effective because we spent most of our times there to chat and eat and joking around. haha
I found the first mushola since I arrived in Bangkok! And suddenly all people inside of that mushola are Indonesians too. Nyeeh.

I had the wrost som tum ever. Yaix. Bu t I got the best crepes I’ve ever taste. I want that crepes again!!

Day 10- Preparation Day part 2, June 23rd

Today I had another preparation day about ASEAN Global Village. We met at Chulalongkorn University. I had a small tour around Chula. What a very great campus! I love every corner of this place. Here are some pictures that I took there.

This campus also had a very cute bus in pink!

I love this campus because this kind of modern but also keep the traditional side of Thai culture. This campus also facilitates the students very well. With this free bus, complete stores inside, great bookstore with complete foreign books with student price. The other big plus for this campus is that, it’s located in the central of Bangkok, surrounded by many shopping centers. Wooow….

Day 11- Rehearsal Day, June 24th
Today we came to Ministry of Foreign Affair again to prepare country’s booth and have final rehearsal on stage. We waited from 9 am to 3 pm until the booth’s tables come -_____-
We only got 1 chance to rehearse at the stage and suddenly at the evening, the plan changed so that we can’t use the 2 entrances plan. Damn. We had to change that so sudden.
Not a good day, indeed. Today me, andin, giang, giang, and Vicky spent 120 for taxi going to the ministry and 160 for taxi going back home. Nothing more…

Day 12 - ASEAN Global Village Day, June 25th
Glad I had a very good good good day today!!! \(^o^)/
I woke up at 4 am to prepare the whole thing. Andin did the make up for me, so beautiful. Actually we had to be at Ministry at 6.15 but we finished at 7 and we went there at 7.15. hehe.
Indonesian booth is great. It always crowded by the students. We served many Indonesian snacks and also free merchandise.

Me and other Indonesian Eps performed fashion dance. We dressed with traditional clothes from many areas in Indonesia and then we do little dance representing that area. We got many nice reviews from the audiences. Great job guys .

Finally I ended the day with thai dinner at Oldies with niken, anggi, yuyu, bian, andin, huy, tao, and tu. We don’t have much money so we cancelled pur dinner party with other Aiesecer Thai.

Day 13 - Shopping Day, June 26th
We spent this day to go shopping at Tesco because our foods in the room already run out. For the first time, I feel like I’m the strongest girl in the world because I carried a small gallon of mineral water, all the way from tesco to my apartment in 4th floor. And that’s far for sure! Even I can take the bus, but the bus stop far away from my apartment that I still have to walk. fiuh.
After that I spent my day in the apartment until my dad called me to come to join their tour. So we agreed to meet up at Darunnaman mosque to have dinner there. Finally I saw a mosque in Bangkok! I had Thai dinner in a moslem restaurant. Feel so glad that I can eat many foods without paying and feel so happy because I’m with my family
I spent a night with them at Dinasty hotel. There are a lot of Indonesian tourists in that hotel. They came with big groups. I went to sleep with my mom in one bed after looking around at the night market near my hotel <3

Day 14 - Indonesian Day, June 27th
Today I spent the whole day with my family. We visited Grand Palace and Madam Tussaud. Why I said it’s an Indonesian day? It’s because of I met Indonesians all the time since from the hotel until I separated with my family at Siam Paragon.
When I got into the lift, my aunt talked to the other Indonesian in the lift and she said, she is having a tour with SMK Jaksel teachers. Okay no wonder there are so many Indonesians. When I reached the 1st floor and met my mom, mom said that she saw someone that she might know but forgot who. So I tried to figure out by coming to that person, and suddenly, it turns out to be MY HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER! And not only one! In fact some SMA 8 teachers are having a tour to Bangkok at that time! And who ever imagine that they will stay in the same hotel like my family did. What a world..
And also in Grand Palace and Madam Tussaud, I heard Indonesian languages many time.geez.
Yap I only be with my family less than 24 hours in Bangkok. But I’m so glad that I met them. And it’s kinda sad when they said, “see you in a month”. Oh My God.. I still have 30 more days here.. I really want to go home soon. I like to be here. Bangkok is quite nice. But Indonesia, however bad it is, I still love it and will always do

Day 15 - Wat Tour, June 28th
This morning I woke up with Niken and Anggi sleep beside me and Byan in the other side of my bed. Yap, they did sleepover in my apartment. They didn’t join the Chiang Mai tour so they chose to stay in Bangkok. They join LCTU tour around Bangkok.
Today Jave took us to Wat Pho and Wat Arun. I always love Bangkok traditional buildings. It has unique and beautiful details all over it. I love Wat Arun the most. Because it’s so high and we can climb the temple and see the great view upside.
We had lunch at Central World and LCTU’s girls gave Jave a small birthday surprise. Me and Andin had a little problem when choosing the cake. But finally we glad that Jave love the cake. Happy birthday my dearest OCP \(^o^)/

NB: we had a little problem actually in Siam paragon. Indonesian Ep’s splitted with Vietnamese and jave and Jave sent me a message that looks like a boyfriend who broken up his girlfriend. But well yeah.. maybe it’s a culture shock. They don’t mean to upset us but we got upset. That happens all the time actually.

Day 16 - Transformer Day, June 29th
Exact 1 month since this date, I will be at the airport going back to Indonesia. I’m so happy that finally I came to this date and getting closer to July so it means that I’m getting closer to my family and boyfie. I miss them so much
